Fraunhofer Institute for Microstructure of Materials and Systems IMWSBioEconomy Cluster
The Cluster brings together areas of research and industrial sectors in Central Germany that are relevant for the bioeconomy with the objective of expediting the development, scaling and use of innovative technical processes. It pays particular attention to sustainable material use of bio-based, renewable raw materials from the non-food sector (especially wood) and on the production of recoverable products for different areas industry sectors, combined with use of residual materials as an energy source along the entire value-added chain.
