JEC Innovation Award
The award in the “Automotive & Road Transportation – Process” category went to the team behind the “HyWaSand” project, which included Ralf Schlimper. The award recognizes the development of a manufacturing process suitable for the large-scale production of thermoplastics.
Ranking of “Germany's Most Innovative Companies”
Both the Fraunhofer IMWS and the Fraunhofer CSP have earned the top rating of five stars and are included in the list of Germany’s most innovative companies. The ranking is based on assessments by nearly 3,000 innovation and industry experts. It is compiled annually by the market research institute “Statista” and the business magazine “Capital.”
Best Poster Award
At the PV Symposium held at Banz Abbey, David Daßler, Stephanie Malik, Matthias Ebert, Robert Klengel, and Carola Klute were honored for their paper titled “Analysis of Efficiency Losses in Inverters within PV Portfolios through the Evaluation of Operational Data.”
ESAO Silver PhD Award
Adrian Hautmann received the Thesis Silver Award from the ESAO (European Society for Artificial Organs) for his doctoral thesis, “Inflammation Modulation, Growth Factor Reservoir, and Chronic Wound Healing Potential: From Nanoscale Coatings to a Free-Standing Layer-by-Layer Platform.” The dissertation focuses on free-standing polyelectrolyte multilayers; the findings can be used to improve (skin) wound healing.
Best Poster Award
At the 53rd IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference (PVSC 53), Jishnu Ramachandran Nair received the Best Poster Award in the “Module and System Reliability” category for his paper “Formulation studies of polyolefin elastomer encapsulants with adhesion promoters: Impact on adhesion strength and crosslinking behavior.”

Stephan Großer, Robert Göckeritz, Bengt Jaeckel, and others were honored by the jury of the 42nd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EUPVSEC) for their poster titled “Investigating the 3-Dimensional Structure of Metallic Filler Particles in Electrically Conductive Adhesives.”

Fraunhofer IMWS has been named one of the “Leading Innovators 2026” by FOCUS Business magazine and the research institute FactField.
Dissertation Award
Robert Heidrich was awarded the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences Dissertation Prize for his doctoral thesis, “Encapsulation Polymer Degradation and Its Impact on the Deterioration of Solar Modules”.
