Research Areas

The competencies in the field of Polymer Applications cover the entire value chain from analysis and design of the material microstructure to tailor-made components. We develop new materials and optimize existing polymer materials with respect to physical and mechanical properties, with a focus on thermoplastics that can be processed. We offer particular expertise in fiber-reinforced semi-finished products, application-specific technology development for thermoplastic-based lightweight structures, and the optimization of elastomer systems. All of this is supported by excellent capabilities for characterization as well as methods for process and structure simulations.
