Hugo-Junkers-Preis

Dr. Christian Thieme and his team were awarded first place in the "Applied Research" category for their discovery of the first new negatively expanding silicates in more than 50 years and their integration into novel low thermal expansion glass-ceramics.

2018 TÜV SÜD Innovation Award

The Nanomaterials and Nanoanalytics Group, together with 3D-Micromac AG Chemnitz, was awarded the 2018 TÜV SÜD Innovation Prize (1st prize) for their joint development of the laser preparation tool “microPREP”.

1st Poster Award of the Joint Meeting of DGG, Germany, ČSS, Czech Republic & SSS, Slovakia.

Christian Patzig and Thomas Höche, received the 1st Poster Award of the Joint Meeting of DGG, Germany, ČSS, Czech Republic & SSS, Slovakia for their poster “Investigation of ultra-short pulse laser structured objects inscribed in silicate glasses”, which was presented together with partners of the DFG project “Tomography of femtosecond laser structured objects inscribed in glass”.
