PosiTest for standard-compliant adhesion tests

Standard-compliant adhesion testing with the PosiTest AT-A

With the automatic adhesion tester PosiTest AT-A, we offer you precise and standard-compliant adhesion tests for coatings, layers, and bonded composites. The method is ideal for quality assurance and evaluation of the adhesion of a wide variety of coating systems.

Adhesion strength testing procedure

In adhesion testing, standardized test stamps (dollies) with a defined adhesive surface are bonded to the surface to be tested. After curing, the test stamps are removed in a controlled, vertical pull.

This destructive test method enables the reliable determination of adhesive strength.

Areas of application and substrates

The adhesive strength test is suitable for a wide range of materials and substrates, including:

  • Metals
  • Plastics
  • Mineral substrates (e.g., concrete)

It supports the qualification of coatings, adhesive bonds, and the evaluation of substrate pretreatments.

Tests according to international standards

Adhesion tests are carried out in accordance with relevant national and international standards, including:

  • ISO 4624
  • ISO 16276-1
  • ASTM D4541
  • ASTM D7234
  • AS/NZS 1580
  • ZTV-ING Part 4

Project-related adjustments to the test parameters are possible at any time.

Supplementary mechanical test methods

For a comprehensive assessment of adhesion and durability, we combine the adhesion test with other mechanical test methods, such as:

This provides you with a comprehensive assessment of your joints.

Analysis of failure causes

On request, we combine the mechanical test results with microscopic and analytical investigations. This allows failure mechanisms and causes of damage to be analyzed in detail and evaluated on a sound basis.
