Autosampler for the Differential Scanning Calorimeter
Dynamic Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) is a method for determining the heat capacity and/or enthalpy change of a material as a function of temperature, rate, and time. At Fraunhofer IMWS, it is used in materials research and analysis to investigate the thermal properties of samples.
DSC analysis can be used to determine various thermal properties of a sample, including:
- Melting and crystallization temperature of semi-crystalline materials.
- Glass transition temperature of amorphous materials.
- Temperature-dependent specific heat capacity of materials, material mixtures or composites.
- Enthalpy changes during crystallization processes or chemical reactions.
