Non-destructive testing

X-ray computed tomography (CT) is a non-destructive testing method.

Non-destructive testing (NDT) is a method used at Fraunhofer IMWS to examine materials or components for defects or irregularities without damaging the material. Various techniques such as ultrasound, X-ray, and thermography are used to detect defects such as cracks, porosity, welding defects, or material fatigue. This allows the material integrity and quality to be assessed without destroying the test specimen.
