Simulation of the filling process of an injection molded component

Numerical simulation plays an important role in component testing. It enables the behavior of components under various loads and conditions to be predicted, thereby optimizing the performance and reliability of components. Using mathematical models and computer algorithms, the Fraunhofer IMWS can simulate complex physical phenomena and analyze stresses, deformations, temperatures, and flows in a component.

Advantages of numerical simulation

On the one hand, numerical simulation makes it possible to evaluate different design options quickly and cost-effectively without having to build physical prototypes. This shortens development times and reduces production costs. It also enables detailed analysis of a component's behavior under extreme conditions. This can help identify and eliminate potential weak points or problems at an early stage.
