Networking

Networks play a central role in our business area because they promote the exchange of expertise among research institutions, industry, and other partners. This collaboration leads to innovative solutions for societal and technological challenges. We contribute our materials research expertise to the networks, alliances, and clusters listed below to promote the efficient development and practical implementation of technologies.

Food Industry Alliance

The Alliance brings together the expertise of 13 Fraunhofer Institutes, which jointly develop solutions for the global food industry. Key areas of focus include climate protection, product safety, and innovative technologies across the entire value chain, from raw materials to sustainable circular models. Fraunhofer IMWS contributes to its expertise in chemical analysis, material design and coating methods, the investigation of biological interactions, and the mechanical evaluation of materials and surfaces.
